Personal counselling

Counselling can offer you a space to work through personal issues in a safe, supportive and confidential environment. Discovering what is important for you and indeed learning to identify and use your inner resources can lead to a fulfilling, happier life. As a result, developing skills to cope in times of stress, anxiety, bereavement, depression as well as the emotional upheaval such as divorce, redundancy, retirement, or illness.

With this in mind, I adapt my experience and knowledge to you as an individual. Working with anxiety, depression and stress and the impact this can have on day to day life. Likewise, some parts of our past we may never have the chance to talk about. As a result, often just talking through a traumatic experience of difficult feelings can be incredibly therapeutic. This is where counselling for adults can really work.

I use a variety of techniques which you can read by clicking the links. Don’t worry as we can speak about these as we go.

Gestalt therapy, existential therapy, transactional analysismindfulness based stress reduction, therapeutic art/play techniques and solution focused therapy.

Within our counselling relationship you will be free to express yourself, there are no thoughts or feelings that are “out of bounds”. Whatever comes up, we will explore these together and try to understand them.

As your counsellor, I will not give you advice or tell you what to do. Instead I shall use my skill, intuition and gut feelings to support you in finding your own way forward, while you rediscover and build upon your own self-esteem and confidence.

I offer face to face counselling, telephone or online video counselling. When you make contact we can discuss which way you feel most comfortable with.

I use ‘Zoom’ for online sessions. There are many benefits to online sessions especially if time is of the essence, or travelling is difficult. Here is a quick guide to how Zoom works.
